Stop Lamp????
OK, I have an 1984 GSL, 5 speed. When The car is turned on and idling the "Stop Lamp" light comes on. I have checked all my lights and all my fluid levels and nothing seems to be wrong there. Does anyone have an idea of what this problem may be?

That light should only come on when the brakes are applied... try pushing the brake and see if all of your brake lights are on if you haven't done so.

I checked that(holding the break and checking lights). My lights are still good. The light on appears for a fraction of a second most of the time but some times it comes on for about 5 seconds and goes away. This has become a daily thing now.

It means there is not enugh current draw from the rear lamps I get the light when I use LED Bulbs. if its intermittent replace the lamp check relay its unter the dash ubove and to the right of the fuse box. follow the wires from the switch on the brake peddle they go right to the relay. you can also bypass it or take the bulb out of the gauge cluster

The front bumper was from a neon, i had a friend do it, he just molded my front bumper and a mold from a neon and put them together did some custom fitting and stuck it on. cost me around $300... but that's cheap seeing as how companies just knock those bumpers off like crazy and sell them for the same price.

Check your grounds as well. Make sure they are all good. I had the ground in the rear of the vehicle (where the rear light screws into come loose) and my brake lights where intermitent and the "stop lamp" came on. I tightened the screw and everythings been fine ever since!
