stock exhaust manifold

at last weekends race, my dad and i noticed a sound which sounded like a small exhaust leak. with the help of our buddy Bret DePedro, we pulled the manifold off and sure enough, there was an obvious leak at the manifold judging by the gasket. so we set a new gasket in place and had an extremely hard time fitting the manifold back onto those studs. and then my dad started the car and we still heard it. my question..... has anyone ever heard of the stock manifolds warping? i wasnt sure if these big cast iron things warped easily.

i suppose if when the cat is clogged the manifolds glow orange, then i'm sure they can warp. Never heard of it before though.

I'd just get a new manifold from a junkyard, or get a header.

I didnt mean that... i meant that if under cirtian conditions our exaust manifolds can glow orange, then I'm sure there's cases where they'll warp.

if the sound is commin from the area around the mani then take it of again and sand it smooth, just dont miss any spots. sand both the man and the area around the ports.
