Stock Carb and Intake Manifold Upgrades

I was asking some of these ?s in a earleir thread this week

What upgrade can be done to the stock carburater to get a little more hp?

also I'm wanting to port out the Intake manifold and was wondering what the do's and donts are to doing it?

My carb has been taken off to get a rebuild done to it, so i was wonder what mods can be done to it and the manifold while i got them off. I got everthing to port with and the rebuild kit just waiting so any info would be appreciated

thanks

when i ran the stock setup, i used the gasket to port match the intake to the engine. then wired the secondarys to open manually.

i seen that searching around, Im getting my carb rebuilt tomorrow probely, and its getting done by a pro so im hoping he will have some answers of maybe getting a bit more hp out of this stock carb. and for porting the intake manifold i think ill just make the wholes abit bigger and hopefully it will all work out in the end

Well, if you search theres some good stuff written by Sterling about the AP mod, also mech secondaries will give more power. I wont say exactly what I do to the manifolds. However if you want to go it on your own, start learning how the principles apply to it. Doesnt matter if its a piston or rotary, all engines are air pumps. A bit of web searching will get you lots of good info. DONT just hog it out. I made that mistake years ago when I didnt know better. Top end was great, didnt run worth a **** anywhere else. Not good for an AutoX car which is what I was doing at the time.

Alright the question I have is what do you do when you use the 79 intake manifold on a newer engine? How do you block the bottom emissions port?????
