Stock battery location problem
Well I picked up another FB recently and just finally got it all done with what I wanted to swap over from my other one. I put my battery from my first FB into this one because it didn't have one. The battery was being help "tight" with a bungee cord for now, but just 2 days ago after I parked my car and opened the hood noticed that it had slipped forward and was stuck there in position. So I knew this wasn't good and something bad could happen if it persisted, and in doing so took out my old tray I had in mine and put it in this car with the battery on top. Seemed like it would hold up just fine. Just today the battery slid forward again and fell and the tray cracked but I'm still using it cause I have nothing else. I've never had this problem before, any ideas on how to get it to stay put? Not planning on doing a battery re-location any time soon yet.

Wow, people actually use bungee cords? I thought it was ghetto haha. Well right now it originally had one going from front to back but no side to side, made i'll try that instead.

Try going side to side, that should help. If not, I am pretty sure some more Ideas will chime in soon.

Yeah, I got it off another 7 lol. Ghetto, true, but until I find another battery tie down this works great. My car has blown struts on all four corners, but that does not stop me from hittin the curves (not too hard), and it still sticks there.

Yeah!!!
Mariah body kits (google it) makes a battery relocation kit that comes with EVERYTHING you need to put it in onr of the tubs behind the seats.
They are fairly expensive, which is why I dont have one. They are a little over $200.
But your battery wont move back there!!!!!
Hope you find what you are looking for!

if you use a regular battery, you need a box that can be purchased at autozone plus an in-line fuse (large see-thru box) rated at 80+ amps; buy this at any stereo shop. you need a breather also. Box not needed for Optimas or similar type of battery.
1. battery = bin behind the driver or passenger seat. since parts are easy to find in socal, I always cut out the bin's carpet and trim the plastic areas. I only use the upper part of the bin for a stock look, and at the same time, you can brag to noobs that it is solar powered.
2. battery (-) terminal = ground/mounted to the seat belt bolt.
3. battery (+) terminal = battery ==>> in-line fuse ==>> starter. Run the cable under the carpet and thru the firewall (use rubber grommet).
4. fuse box (+) terminal = red thick 10-12 gauge wire, stereo shops use them for installing amps. fuse box ==>>starter (same bolt where the battery (+) cable goes).

we used to use a circuit breaker instead of a fuse, much more convienent, when it pops. ReTed's idea...
if you look at factory cars with batteries in the back, they never have a special fuse, look at a miata sometime

For the stock location, battery hold-down clamps are less than $5 at the parts store. You can get a universal one that will work just fine, unless of course your rad/panel assembly has changed drastically or your metal battery tray's eyelet for the hook is busted.

For now, the bungee cord going from left to right is working. I had it setup front to back before and that wasn't but this seems to hold. Took it for a drive for a little and it was fine. Thanks for the help, i'll probably do what wacky said with the battery hold down kit/optima setup.
