Sticky Rice

I need a new hood for Carmen, so I picked one up @ the junkyard. It's white, and Carmen's Sparkling Black Metallic, so I'm having a hood-sized decal printed with the image of carbon fibre on it. Maybe that'll tide me over until decent vented and/or CF hoods are available.

LOL. I thought about buying the carbon fiber fabric and covering a stock hood with it. Couldn't find any fabric wide enough to do it without a seam. My body and paint guy said it would eventually delaminate.

3M autowrap with a protective coating, so it shouldn't delaminate (or peel in a carwash for that matter)

It was one of those wild off the wall thoughts I had while I was doing the fiberglass and body work installing the widebody kit. In all honesty, if the entire car was covered with carbon fiber, it would look pretty tough. Would I really do it, only if someone paid me to do it for a show (rice) car.

I'm waiting for someone to actually airbrush a car completely to appear like a full CF body. Prolly already been done, just haven't seen pics, yet.......

That's the benefit of autowrap - you can print images onto it, then stick it onto the car and have it fit the curves. one of the local autocrossers has his entire Honda CRX covered in the stuff (except the windows, natch) as pretty much one huge decal

Sorry, forum bucks won't cut it for this one, but double that in PayPal dollars and I'll do your shell. lol. Now, wouldn't that be a suprise if I showed up with your car on a trailer looking like that.

*laughs hystarically..... stops.... breaths.... laughs again*

*clutches his chest, catching his breath again*

Oh God... Manntis, you sure are one crazy ****, I've gotta hand it to ya. I haven't laughed so hard since someone posted a pic of that carbon fibre turtle with the wing... But now that I think of it, maybe his shell was stock, and just had carbon-printed wrap on it! :o

Do It I Dare You!

If it works out good, I may do it for my project car too. Which has a horrible hood.

I once painted chicken tracks across the hood of my VW bug.

And put fangs in the grill of my dad's ford maverick.

He wasn't amused
