I have a rx-7. It has clarion am/fm and seperate cass, i assume all factory. WIll a normal size DIN radio fit in place of the am/fm radio?

Any good ideas for stero setup/speaker placement?

Are you refferring to the 82 in your profile? If so a single din will fit right in, with no problems. For my system I just put the speakers in the factory locations simply for ease of installation. 4" round in the front, and 6" round in the back. Do you plan to run an amp and sub too?

You may need to bust out the saw (thats what I had to use). My center console only had openings for the stock stereo, so I had to cut it out so my regular stereo would fit in there. Then, I had to re-wire ALL of the speakers in my car to bypass the amps. But in the end, it sounds really good.

BadAss, just to confirm: a 1 DIN CD player will fit in an 83 GSL without any problems? I'd probably keep the factory EQ, unless it's worth replacing at the same time...

Good luck wiring it Or esle I should say why? Up to you, I have done a few years ago, and the gain werent worth it.

Back then the clarion amps they had were pretty nice, now days a deck makes more usefull power. and there are decks available that have EQ in them with sub out

Also thinking back, an 83 isnt a direct drop in. I beleive there some cutting involved. Also I belive the inner struture has to be filed in the corners at the top.

I personally prefer trimming the front dash to accept a DIN as a rear load, that way it is flush with the dash and doesnt look like Poo Poo

Hrm... I don't want a pumpin' system. Maybe I should just go for a RF CD changer and keep everything factory. I'm happy enough with the receiver sound.
