Personally I like the stock size, since I don't have power steering the extra leverage from the bigger wheel helps. It may not be as cool or as quick as the aftermarket wheels, but i'm also less likely to lose a thumb if I hit a pothole at a really bad angle.

Love my 13" Grant. Yeah it's sometimes hard to see the gauges, but i gain a **** load of room for my legs.

Same here, love he 12" momo, lots more leg room. But its hard to turn when standing still. I can still see the gauges pretty well now. (Turbo II seats)

I like my 350mm Momo wheel. It will require a little more effort when parking but it feels nice when just driving around. I have no problems even driving it around in tight places like San Francisco.

Also I'm about 5'8 and its really close to covering parts of speedo and top part of the tach. I'm sure taller people may have more trouble seeing the gauges but a spacer would probably help.

I've got the Grant 13" in my DD 85GSL and it's fine. More legroom, power steering, and who needs the guages? I keep a quart of gas in the back in case I ignore the fuel guage too long. Which has happened.

I changed my 85 steering wheel for the 82 because it was easier to see the dials.

My question was started as in an earlier thread on steering modifications it was said the best steering wheel for a Gen 1 was a Momo 13 1/2 inch, and I wanted other's views before changing again.

I find above 130mph steering with the stock size wheel tends to becomes a little vague and without feedback.

Grant and Sparco both have 13 3/4" wheels...IMO, that would be the best one since the gauges would be visible again...I have a 13" Sparco, so I simply watch the tach to know when I'm at 60, 70, 80 or too fast...

I hated my little Grant wheel because of the gauge blockage.I switched to a 3rd gen Infini wheel. Its the same size as stock, but looks much better and its got a nice, fat grip. The 88-92 FC wheel is similar and looks good, both are a direct bolt on for first gens.

I got a nardi classic black. I believe it is 35cm. Maybe 2" or so shorter than stock. I like it heaps better than stock. Much better feel to it, and more leg room.
