Question Steering wheel shake

Whenever i get to about 55-60 Mph, the steering weel shakes violentley back and forth, and is very hard to controll... Scary

After 60+ it's gone, nice and smooth.

I'm stumped?

my gf's old ford tempo had this problem about the same speed. have you ever taken it in for wheel balancing and alignment checks. otherwise i'd say check your sterring bushings.

Mine had a little shaking around 60 and then it went away. After I got the new tires balanced, it went away.

it shouldn't that hard,, front end right ?? alaignment,
tires,bushings,bearings,some might say warped rotors,
did it start all of a sudden ?? and when its the steering
box, that ends up as play from lock to lock

i'm almost positive its your tires/alignment...i've had this problem with almost every car my family has....but you can always use it as an excuse to put in some nice new poly bushings
