Steering wheel mounting

Does anyone have any details about the steering wheel mounting (on 1st gen)?

I came across this:

Was completely baffled, 17mm female mounting?

No, I am talking about the description. The seller describes it as 17mm female mounting.

What does that mean? Anyone have any ideas?
Would it be possible to put his on a first-gen?
