Steering wheel is loose

The wheel is loose, it wont move in and out at all just up and down. but when you take the key out and the wheel locks it has no play at all. I taook the wheel off a little in search of loose bolts and i found one screw i tighted on the back side on the aluminum thing where the ignition is mounted but it didnt seem to help much. what shoudl i look for?

Comeonstart, I could understand it but....... I guess some people couldn't

Here is the question with some punctuation and stuff.

_____The wheel is loose, it won't move in and out at all, just up and down. But when you take the key out and the wheel locks, it has no play at all. I took the wheel off a little in search of loose bolts. I found one screw that I tightened on the back side on the aluminum thing where the ignition is mounted. It didnt seem to help much. What should I look for?

it's a worn nylon bushing in the steering column tube.

depends on what ur capable of doing. all that's involved is removing the steering wheel and probably the turn signal switch, it's been quite awhile since i did this, and cleaning out all the old bushing with a screw driver.
