Steering and suspension parts list

I recently started to be aggravated about my steering and suspension not being up to par with my own tastes and decided that there needs to be a thread of parts list, part numbers, manufacturers, and prices so that anyone who is wanting to know which exact part we are talking about they can easily just take the part number and manufacturer and take it to their local auto parts store.

I went around mostly through rockauto.com since they have the best prices, and mazdatrix, and racingbeat, and ReSpeed.

this is not an End-All, Be-All to suspension and steering. this was made so that those who are going to correct their steering play and worn out parts associated with this to go ahead and have them replaced as well while we are under there. since the entire steering system works in unison.

I have already comprised a list of the part names, where they can be found, part number, how many required/per side, part number, and listed price on the associated website.

Note: the lower control arms are listed twice since not everybody wants to pay a little bit extra for the more radical camber adjustments offered by Racing Beat.

I like this thread. I just recently discovered napaonline, I love to get part numbers myself and take it out of the hands of the idiots at the counter. Why dont they ever tell us about the premium parts like super strength U-joints with grease fittings already installed? bastards

i might as well get everything new since im going to take part in some road courses this summer, and i'd rather get everything nice and tight as close as it was to new back in '85. ball joints for the control arms come with the ReSpeed master bushing kit so i might as well

besides, once i get all these parts together along with new shocks/structs and the rear end bushings taken care of, im going to do a write up

Since you are already talking about steering, I am looking for some answers on my 1983. I just purchased it and the steering seems stiff and is hard to turn wheels when sitting still. It seems as light as the car is it should turn much easier. Is this normal? If not what should I do to correct this problem.

Thanks for a response.

No power steering is hard to turn when the wheels aren't moving.

its more than likely that you do not have power steering since you say it is difficult to turn the wheel when sitting still

You can buy ball joints seperately and save 1/2 the cost or more of replacing the lower control arms.

i wish it was that easy for me. a while back i had no choice but to cut across a curb to avoid hitting a dog and ended up bending a lower control arm, nothing else which surprise me beyond belief. i replaced it with a junkyard one and the junkyard one isn't much better than having a bent one cause its bent as well but not as severely. the car drives just fine cause my alignment job is under a lifetime warranty with a local shop so its just fine.

i just decided to go all out and start making a list. im going to start buying the steering parts first once i get my taxes and then little by little im going to buy the rest of the suspension including new shocks
