Steering Gear Ratio

Hey folks, I'm trying to figure out how to get a lower Steering gear. Like you'd see in indy car of F1 cars. I figure maby the rallye 1st gen guys might know.

I did see the steering rack conv for the first gens but I'd be just as happy if I could modify my current box.

And its been 15 years since I delt with a recirculating ball setup. I miss my carolla

Mazda has a competition version of the gear box, but you're going to pay about a grand to get it. If it was a choice between that and the Respeed R&P then the choice would be easy. R&P is far superior to recirculating ball steering.

A member on this forum named Maninblack has said that he can swap the gears out in the stock unit and improve it. I've driven his car, and the steering is amazingly light and quick. I have not seen this reproduced yet though...
