Unhappy Starting problems...(yes I searched)

Well, here's the story. My dad, my friend, and I took a running 12A motor out of a FB and transplanted it into a much much nicer 85GS.

We put a Holley /w RB intake on it and RB Header. We cannot get it to start no matter what we do. I've replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump, and I removed all the emissions. The carb is getting fuel so I know it isn't that. There's no spark from the Trailing plugs but the trailing coil is getting power. We've tried different plugs but its the same problem.

My dad used to build rotaries and he said he's never had this happen to him before, but he has never worked on a newer 12A... it was always older 13B's and 12A's from RX-3's and R100s...

Does anyone have an idea what's going on? I really need this car running cause I have no transportation to school or work :/.

Thanks,

Josh Ryan

Wow, you´re telling us that there is no spark coming out from the trailing plugs but the trailing coil is getting power... Have you tried to know if the trailing coil is getting power out to the wire that goes to the distributor?? If the coil is giving out power then you have to check if the distributor cap is giving power to the spark plugs; if no you have to check your distributor cap an rotor maybe they are to much tartar or sediment in the contact points.... Try this and post for the results..

What plugs are you using too??

Burnt trailing igniter, assuming its wired correctly. BTW, did you guys touched the distributor at all? If its not properly installed, it will crank but it wont start. Morethan likely, its flooded by now.

BTW, Does it start if you pour gas in the carb?

I like that...father & son team

Does not start if you pour gas down the carb....

We did not touch the dizzy.
I figured the trailing ignitor was shot, so I am having him swap dizzys.
