mine does that as well, after a 15 minute drive or so, I go into a store, come back out, and it does NOT want to start, usually gotta coax it allot to get it to start, it starts right up in the morning with the choke and no pedal.... and other times, just not when its hot

If it's cold weather, the engine has cooled enough that you're back at square one regarding starting procedure. If it's happening in warm weather, too, then you need to change your plugs...

Good thing the plugs worked, I was going to ask if you were losing any coolant.

usually if this is happening, it could be a problem with compression.. I have had 2 engines go out this way..

My 80 was bad about that sometimes I had to even hold my hand over the carb while it was running (The idle would lope really bad, and stall often). I think they call that Vapor lock?

85 never did it, but sometimes when Id drive it really hard, and go to restart it, Id have to press the gas all the way to the floor..
