Starter Question......

I have an 83 engine and need a new starter.
What years will work before I go looking at the wreak yards?

82 will work

82 will work, but for some reason Mazda does not agree. I have both a 85 and 82 rx7 and I'm using the same starter. I just purchased a starter from a guy on Ebay rebuilt that was advertised as 74 to 82 and I installed it on my 85. I compared it to my 85 starter that I removed and it worked perfect. Check it out!

I guess as long as it matches up exactly, year should not make a dif. So 82 to 85 is what I willl go with.
Should be able to find one in a wreak yard locally here I think, just willl take a bit of loooking.
I just want to hear the rotory engine purr once again and drive it too!!
Thanks Locklej
