Starter Or Other Problem?

My 83' is having the same problem. I've replaced the starter and both battery terminals and wire brushed the connections, and still have the same problem. The problem is the positive battery cable...if the old cable is moved around just right, the car starts with no problem. Time to replace that cable, though replacing both cables wouldn't be bad idea either.

Dude, I'm sorry to have to say this but if rotaries are out of your league, then why do you own a 7? Should've bought a Honda... Also, I think I will avoid your threads until you learn to type correctly.
Good luck.

But I Like Sportcars And I Like Older/Classic Cars
Sorry if I sounded a little harsh man, its just that the rotary engine is the most unique thing about these cars. I always cringe when people talk of replacing them as an "upgrade". It's bad enough when they want to put a V8 into them (at least then there would be massive HP if done right), but when someone says a 4 cylinder it just makes me a little sick to my stomach. Kind of like someone suggesting that your little sister take up prostitution as a hobby, you know? The rotary engine has a lot to offer, especially if you are willing to work with it and give it the mods that it really needs to bring it to life (exhaust, ignition, carb). These engines were designed for racing, and they're the only engine you can take to the redline several times a day without feeling like you're slowly killing it. They are light weight, rev really high, and are smooth as silk. Sure, they only have 100 horse stock, but the horses of a rotary have very long legs! Spend a little time learning about the engine before deciding to swap anything else in there. For the work and cost that it would take to replace it, you could just as easily mod what you have and end up with an even better car. Of course, in the end it is all up to you. But don't expect any rotorhead to approve of sticking a 4 cylinder in there.
