Start up

I am starting my 85 RX-7 GSLwhich has not been started in 2 years. It has org mileage of only 17,000miles. What should I do prior to turning it over. ANY TIPS

basica maintenence. oil change, coolant flush, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, put good fuel in it, etc....

Also, I'd suggest trying to turn it over by hand slowly. If this is not easy then there might be carbon build-up.
Do a search on how to remove carbon.

Yep, it needs to be cranked by hand on either the alternator pulley nut, or the 19mm bolt on the main drive pulley. If the alt belt slips, carefully try to rotate the engine with the 19mm bolt. Don't force it because if you do, you might over-torque the bolt and reduce end play. This, of course, is if the engine has locked up due to carbon lock. Otherwise, it should move fairly easily by hand from the alt pulley.

All of the above and.....

Putting some MMO or Amsoil Powerfoam into the spark plugs holes might be a good idea. If any seals are stuck in place that should losen them 'em up enough to make then move freely again. Check out the carbon-lock section of Decarbonizing A Rotary (FEATURED ARTICLE)
