Stalling 1985 SE
I have an automatic transmission in my SE. I have been having to drive with both feet becuase the car wants to stall every time I have to stop. If I keep my foot on the accelerator a little I can keep it running. Any thoughts? Just started doing it since the cold weather here in Michigan.

Just ran Out to the Garage
I am swallowing my pride...it is a GS. Like I said I have not had the car that long and got it for practically nothing. Body in great shape. I figured if I could not get it running right I would part it out. I am hoping it is something simple.

Post some more specifics. There might be someone who can help but some more details should get more feedback. This may require driving the car some more and noting any loss of power, hesitation, etc. The car stalling seems like a minor issue when compared to an engine with a blown seal that will either not run at all or run like crap but will run w/o stalling. So basically I can't help you at this point.

Thanks PT
I will back on here in the next few days to be more specific. I just hope I can get it started. It is very cold here in Michigan. I did read how to start it cold on here. I hope it works. Thank you

Where in Michigan are you?
Does the motor still sound smooth at all rpm's, or is it lumpy? As long as it's still smooth, the problem should be minor. However, it could be anything from a vacuum leak to a carb adjustment. You came to the right place though, post specifics and you will definitely get the help that you need....

That's not too bad. If nothing else gets this fixed, maybe I can free up some time to have you swing by. I'm no expert, but even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.
