Squeal Or Chirp Sound?

I have a 1980 with 85k miles. When I downshift into 2nd i get this squeal/chirping sound (definitely not belt squeal). Also if I rev it up in 2nd then let it coast, as it slows down I also get the sound. I know it also does it in 3rd. Can't tell in other gears as there's so much other noise. Thanks.

Constant. It seems to stop once the engine is no longer slowing the car down as much.

I know from experience that when I down shift into 2nd, the back wheels will sqeal being the engine is catching up. Its not a good thing, and I've only done it initially when getting used to the car. But you say it does it at third, your gonna have to check some stuff out, mabye even in the clutch area. I would keep from doing that as much as possible.

Spray the whole car down with wd-40, maybe that will stop it. Maybe it's the throwout bearing beginning to get a little dry.

As I think back....I'm almost certain that this started after changing the tranny and diff fluid. I used the proper weight fluid as stated in the Haynes manual. 80 or 90...whatever was stated for colder weather. I used the stuff that Autozone had in the bulk container (2 or 3 gallon)...I think Coastal. Coincidence?
