Squeaky suspension.
I just put some used racing beat springs in the back of my GSL-SE and now my suspension squeeks like crazy. I had a little bit of a squeak before, so I greased, all the control arm and watt's link bushings as well as the top and bottom of the springs. The only thing I can think of is that I tightened all the bolts while the car was up on jack stands. Maybe I should loosen them up and retighten them up with the car on the ground. Any ideas?
Also, how do the bushings work anyway? Since you tighten up the bolts pretty tight it would seem that the bracket is being tightened around the metal center of the bushing, so is the idea for the rubber to rotate around the center? It seems that rubber would stick to the metal. Or are they just suppossed to flex?
I don't like the car sounding like a 75 Buick.

Hmm... When you pulled off the stock spring did it have the rubber mounting area for the top of the spring? It's a rubber disc, and on one side of my car it came out with the spring and on one side it didn't, so maybe the top rubber disc is attached to your old springs and now you just have metal on metal where the spring meets the car body. Maybe?
I know its an obvious one, but if I was in a rush or if it was dark I might of missed it.c
Or maybe they both stayed up inside the car but are just rotted out/ through, check that out.
