I think you could do it flat black, not spray paint, but black paint is cheap at like Napa. I painted my car for $20 this summer. My dad and I built a paint booth and painted it ourselves. He has done a bunch of them so it turned out really well. Oh the paint was tractor implement. Turned out great, so don't diss. It is incredibley cheap, and turned out nicely.

mines flat black cheap wal-mart paint. if you want picks e-mail me at hankins4@frontiernet.net it's not the best right now but when i put another coat on it will be pretty cool, it does pick up every bit of dust but it looks so sweet in the rain and at night man it is beautiful especially since you can't see it. HHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

yo, if you do go rattle can, i heard drop the cans in a big tub of hot water, it lets the paint atomize better before actually hitting the car......i have no idea what i'm talking about but i read in a sport compact magazine where they went with flat black rattle can paint job on a 03 WRX.....sigh.

I have an extra gas filler door that I tested it on last night and it looks good. Not accurate to what the car may look like though. I'm gonna do it. If I don't like it I'll take it right to maaco.

Like I said, the hood is nice and large, you'll get plenty of practice/refresher course on how to paint large areas with spraypaint using the hood.

I'm actually going to do a light grey rattle job on mine till I can get a real paint job done. I'm sick of primer that's so old it rubs off just by leaning on it

Well a mans got to do what he's got to do. If it still has the old lacquer paint and you dont strip it down to bare metal when you do get it painted it's going to cost you alot more.
Use the rust treatment that turns to primer. If you do all the work yourself like using aricraft
stripper and borrowing someones pressure washer, it will take most of it off in about 1.5 to
2 hours. Then you dont have to worry about it lacquer checking and you probably get someone to shoot it pretty cheap. But if you gotta do just the black primer, get some of the
moon wheel covers like racing beats pictures of their bonneville runs. rx7doctor
