Spinner-D's 84 GSL-SE Project So Far

Here is what I have been doing to my car...

Here is an aluminum plate I mounted my coils too for the Duel Leading Igniter Direct Fire Ignition System I am building for my 1st gen:

I had the dash fabricated at Cascade Autosport in North Bend Washington (State). It was about $500 for the dash including the powder coat paint and holes cut. They did an awesone job and are very friendly! The guages are all Autometer except the Speedometer which is digital and gives you 0-60 times, and quarter mile times, and can be calibrated to different tire sizes quickly.

I am also planning a custom welded in cage done by Cascade Autosport to stiffen the chassis, and I guess for safety. heh.

Very nice! 500 bucks sounds dirt cheap for that kind of fabrication! Cage? Wow, how much power you plan to run?

I think he mostly wanted it to stiffen up the car.

I told you those Blaster SS coils look cool .

I hoping to get 175-180HP out of the mods I have planned. Racing beat claims with the kit and exhaust I have I will be at 180HP, but I'm assuming thats at the flywheel (stock is 135HP for my car). This is a non-ported engine, but eventually I want to rebuild my engine and get a medium to large street port, and a lightened steel flywheel. Then I imagine I could be approaching 200HP.

Currently, as you can see I removed the power everything to minimize drain on the engine from unneeded accessories like power steering, A/C, Air pump...

Next I am ging to jumble through all that wiring and figure out what I need, and what I can cut out, and make it look all nice and neat.

Starting out as a Street/Track car, but technically it would be a track car only because I have removed all emission control devices. Someday I want to open the engine up with some porting, get a torsen differential, and a race transmission and coil over struts (maybe ground control) for the front, and a race fuel cell so it's definantly going to be geared for on the track.

you will never believe what I found under the hood of my car!!! On the left side of the car next to the pop up light I for the first time noticed a "Hid-a-Key" magnetic box stuck there. I opened it up and found the original Mazda key for my car, and a key for the bins behind the seats which of course are gone now. The key looks like it has never been used. I bet it has been there since the original owner, because the guy I bought it from didn't tell me about it. Funny!
