Spindle/steering knuckle same-as?

I have an 85 GSL-SE and the front right bearings got so hot they melted the spindle's threads. I'm looking for a new spindle, but cannot find any for FBs, Only FCs. My question is, are the 1985 FB spindle same as the 1986 and on FCs?

Also, I've seen it referred to as the steering knuckle. Is the spindle seperate or attached to the steering knuckle? Because I've searched those too and can't find any for my 1985.

Edit: I've been on ebay, used car parts, salvage networks, can only find them for 1986 and on. Are they same as? Also, my dad said he tried a die kit to rethread them, but that he only had odd metric dies, and none of them fit. I tried looking online, and all the die threading kits come as evens, 18, 20, 22, 24 etc. Shouldn't they fit? I can find next to no information on the measurements of the spindle.

Spindle for FBs are not the same as the FC (86 and newer). The spindle/strut is all the same
part. Its part of the strut assembly. You need to find a new or used 85 strut assembly. I don't
see a new one available on rockauto. Pull-a-apart is your friend.

I've checked pull a part, salvage yards, ebay, like I said no luck. Parts like this were never meant to need replacing so don't exist as new parts, and these don't exist before 1986 in the used parts marketplace. Looks like I'm screwed lol

I have several large spindles. Saving them for future old school RX3/4 conversions. I may also part out my spare 84 (complete, converted to rear disc brake, motor maybe good but no time to work on it since i have too many cars...total 9 including my daily) How much do you want to pay lol

There are two different PNs for the -SE and non-SE strut assys. What's the difference? Can I bolt an -SE hub/rotor assy onto a non-SE strut assy?

Gsl-se was the top trim. It will be different because the spindle is bigger, so the hub and rotor won't fit. Afaik though the FCs all had the bigger spindles.

86 base possibilty

Could you use the spindle and hub from a 4 lug base model. The SE wheels won't fit with out boring the centerhole out a little. I Tried putting the SE wheels on my FC, almost fit.
