CA speedo gear cable...

in the middle of an engine swap, i have noticed that the speeo cable(comes from tranny up through firewall) does not appear to be plugged into wherever it goes behinf the dash.

anyone seen this before?

how difficult will this be to fix?
dash have to come out(never pulled the dash on the rx) is this difficult?

what stumbling blocks will i run into?

thanks in advance,
K.

No, just reach up behind there and plug it in.

The cable has a plastic connector on the end that plugs into the mating connector on the back of the gauge panel. Should be visible from the driver's footwell area if you contort yourself into a small monkey and look upward while praying to the God of the Rotary.

Good luck with that. Easy fix, though.

There is a how-to for the_SA_ dash removal in the archive (I wrote it) - your FB will be VERY similar, so it should help. It actually comes out in a very simple logical manner - as long as you do TWO things:
1) photograph your removal steps so you have an assembly guide
2) zip-lock bag EVERY piece and LABEL it so you know WTF it is on assembly...
