Sparking from igniton coil
On the Right hand ignition coil (if you are standing on the drivers side), I noticed a spark jumping around from underneath the rubber cap. Is this bad? I unplugged it and took a good look at it, there is some corrosion but not very much, just a little spot of it, which i removed with Coke. But I looked down inside the igniton coil and there was some dirt or something in there, so I cleaned that out, and there was also some kind of liquid on/in/around the cap. It also looked like i might not of been getting a very good connection.
Anyone think this could be causing some of my idle problems, and acceleration stutter? If i'm not getting a very good spark out of it go to the distributor?

Well, I just cleaned everything off really well, and as it is dark, i can't check for cracks. But I started my car again and opened the hood, and the spark is pretty much constant. I will try to work on it tommorow, and try to get it to stop, I don't have much cash for parts right now, but If I have to, I think I can dig out the money.

The fluid that was there is most likely the oil leaking out of the coil due to cracking. The coil is shot.
Now, stock replacement coils are going to cost a flaming butt load, so you might as well think about upgrading (which is much cheaper). You can pick up a 2nd gen leading coil pack from the junkyard or Ebay for about 20 bucks. Smoother, faster, better.

when you get 2nd gen coils are you gonna have to reset timing? also what if im getting hit with about a good amount of electricity when i touch my coil wires, the ones that run to the distributor. is this normal? something i gotta do?

^^^ Sounds like you're ready for some new cables. Timing does not seem to be affected by the standard mod (2nd gen ignition into 1st gen), but with the transistor trick, it seems that an adjustment will be required.

lol, well there's a little bit more to it than that. Check out the link in the FAQ section for good details on how to do the original mod. It involves snipping a couple of wires on the new coil pack, adding power to it, takes about ten minutes plus mounting time. However, if you can contact Kent fast enough you might be able to get one of the "transistor trick" boxes from him before he leaves for France. This makes installation of the new coil pack much easier, and the results (at least in my case) are astounding. That would be my recommendation.
