Spark Plug Price

I saw that the Mazdatrix price for a spark plug is $7.68. Is that EACH or for the whole set?

Seems to me that "ordinary" spark plugs cost about a buck apiece.

Well, the RX-7 isn't an 'ordinary' car. That price is indeed for one NGK spark plug.

You can get the correct plugs for less than that. I found quite a difference in spark plug prices when I called around the local auto-parts stores.
Piston plugs/side fire plugs will not last as long as the correct plug.

The place I buy the NGK plugs from sells them at the whole sale price to the public ($7.45 ea. CND) because no one will buy them at Retail price of $14.95 each CND.

So do, do your selfe a favor and look around locally first you will be surprised at what you will find but make sure you get the propor NGK plug because any thing else has the potential to Bring huge amounts of pain

Yeah I found them for $4.99 each at Auto Zone. That is better than $7.50 at Mazdatrix - but still it is expensive compared with the 0.97 sale price I remember for "ordinary" plugs.

I just switched from BR8EQ-14's to the BR9's and noticed that I can hit redline ALOT faster using the cold plugs under boost. Just gotta let the car warm up first. They cost me $6.50 each and had to be special ordered from Syracuse by NAPA.

Whoops... I bought me some Denso plugs from Auto Zone... I wanted NGK BR8s but Auto Zone doesn't carry NGK--and I needed the plugs before the trip to B'ham. I know everyone recommends NGKs, but did I really go wrong with the Densos?

FS

EDIT: I forgot to mention the post I searched up--it talked about the plug falling to pieces inside the engine! This happens often?! I'm scared now!

yeah, i was lookin for br9eiv or br10eiv today. figured if i was goin to pay for ngk's might as well get the good ones. nobody could get them around oly. wa. so i broke down and ordered from rb. i probably could have found them if i wanted to waste time and look more. but i'm too lazy.
