This the 2nd plug I've cooked in my 83, what causes plugs to come apart. SC

Cheap plugs sometimes. Is that a NGK or some Walmart special like Champion?

The other cause might be detonation or running at too high an RPM, or both.

It looks like a NGK. I was going to suggest detonation. Maybe NGK had a run of bad plugs?

I went to the parts store to buy one plug and he said that that it happens when you install them wrong. wrong size socket wrench or it slips off. SC
