Need help and advice with GSL-SE, long post

Hi everyone, it's been about 7 or 8 years since I last posted... but now I need your help and advice. I have a bone stock 84 GSL-SE that I've owned for the last 7 years. It's in very good condition and has 190000km on it, original engine. In the last 7 years I've put 10000km on it, I use it very little cause I have 3 kids. I started it up last friday, it hadn't been started for the last 2 months. Starter turns and so does the engine, but the starter was turning like it had no resistance, as though the engine had no compression! So I continued turning it over and eventually it felt like some compression was coming back. I took out the spark plugs, front rotor was full of fuel (obviously), rear rotor the spark plug was all white! I turned the engine over and I was getting compression in both rotors. Cleaned up the plugs, blew out the spark plug holes with compressed air, put plugs back in. Car eventually started and blew out so much smoke I couldnt see my neighbour's house anymore! After about 15 minutes of idling everything was normal, took the car out for a spin and she was running nice and strong. So my question is, what happened?? I'm getting the feeling that maybe the internals are all gummed up cause I don't drive it enough, is this possible? How can I clean up the internals without taking apart the engine (cause I know it's still good). I have some MMO (VERY hard to get in Canada by the way), but I don't know what to do with it. Advice???

I have the same issue to a extent. When i dont start my car for a week its a bitch to start and floods and when it does start up it runs super rough for like 15 seconds. What me and a few other forum members have assumed is one of the springs that makes sure the hard seals work as advertised is getting stuck temporarilly haveing no compression. When the fuel/oil hits em they start to free up and it runs fine. If i dont start my car for 4-5 days its pretty much haveing to change the spark and deflood the motor before it runs. Good thing its my DD.

i had one that had leaky injector(s?) that would do exactly the same thing every time i had to start it. i'd see what it does in january (next time you start it?) and if it does it again, then maybe think about fixing it.

OK, thanks for the ideas. Now how can I check if I have leaky injectors? Oh, and I will start it more often now, as this event has got me really scared. Wife wants me to sell if engine pops. I do have an extra set of injectors, they have 46000kms and havent been used since 1991. Can I just swap them, or will they be clogged or leaking too? Or maybe get them cleaned/rebuilt? Who does that?

I would have your extra set cleaned here: http://www.witchhunter.com/

They did mine and they did a great job. I had them back at my door in just over a week. Total cost was around $50.

It really does sound line you have leaking injectors.
