spark plug confusion
kk this might sound a bit funny but i was working on the 7 the other day and i decided to pull the plugs and give them the once over.... i am an owner of a gsl-se with a 13b and i was wondering what where the right plugs? I have the ones from a 12a i know this because i was at the auto weaker and took some from a 12a and they where the same. should i be using the plugs for a second gen 13b or stick with a 12a plug....Thanks
Mike

soo 12a plugs are bad...whats the difference is it just that more gas gets burnt instead of pushed into the cat or will it actually get me more performance...also i know the 2nd gen 13b has a special trailing and a special leading plug should i do that as well or run both as leading?
The br8eq-14 is a hotter plug, if you were doing just stop and go driving all the time and loading up then it would be ok. The 1st gens do not use a different leading and trailing plug.
No problem. You can't fo wrong with the stock heat range for a stock motor. When you start modifying like a big street port or turbo that's when you would go to a colder plug.

yeah ill wait for the new motor before i do anything like that mines got 209 on it ...its well maintained its got 100 psi in front 96 rear but 209's pushing it...or so i think...probably better to get a new one first but still i don't know how much longer mine will go..but thank you agian
Properly cared for and driven, it still has many more miles on it. With the current mileage, plan on new housings when it comes time for a rebuild, probably new irons and bearings too.
Redline it.
Also, with an engine that has high mileage like that, run a search for these two items:
Seafoam
Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer
These two products will be your best friend, as I know from personal experience. I also have 209,000 miles on my engine, and race it on a regular basis (autox)...
