http://www.geocities.com/izzmus/images and click on "epdrivecold.wav" sorry it's so big, it's only 34 sec. long

If you have KaZaA or Morpheus or whatever look for a short little .WAV called "grunt.wav" it's off of the now-dead HiRPM website - bridge ported RX-2

http://www.mazdaracing.com/zoom.mpg is mazdaracing.com's bridge ported 12A turbo street racer That thing sounds way evil.

BTW the first one isn't a bridge, it's just a street port, but it does have a ton of overlap b/c of the way I ported it and that's how it idles!

yeah its a campus of just over 2000 students. It's pathetic. Its a math and science school so only about 20% are girls. sigh...

sorry no women can make a man sad. Was that a system with a presilencer? I heard that presilencers make your car sound like a 'chainsaw on crack'.

No, THIS sounds like a chainsaw on crack:

http://www.rx-7.net/video/1st_op1.mpg

The clip that made me want to build up an evil rotary Looks just like WT without the rust, actually...

edit: Oooh - found another one of the soundfiles off of the now-dead HiRPM site - http://www.rx-7.net/sound/rx2bridge-sound.wav - this sund file is AWESOME if you want to know what a bridgey sounds like

no offense to you guys who like the chainsaw sound, but how can i modify my exhaust and sound not like a chainsaw. I like the rotary sound, but a little less chainsaw and a little more deep tone

i've got a custom-made header going into a 2.5" single to a free-flow stainless-steel cat going into a Dynomax SuperTurbo Muffler into a stainless/chrome presilencer/tip.

The whole thing is stainless steel

You make it chainsaw by not using pre-silencers. abeomid's system has a cat and a presilencer which is why it sounds weedwhacker-ish. You make it deeper toned and throaty/farty by using big tips.

Hey abemoid, your car sounds kinda like a two-stroke dirt bike. Not bad but I prefer the chainsaw on crack type of exhaust note. And Neanderthol, if you want a deep sounding exhaust use straight through mufflers. They tend to filter out the higher frequencies while turbo mufflers filter out the lower frequencies better.

Madaz, I'm running 2 inch primaries up to the diff into a 2.5 inch pipe and single hand made muffler. No resonators. The muffler was made by Cleveland Exhaust. They have a lot of experience with rotaries and these mufflers flow well, sound nice, are quaranteed to last and suit all n/a rotaries including peripheral ports. Only thing is they cost about $300 bucks. Full system is about $600-700. What setup are you running at the moment?

Holy Crap that's cheap. Racing Beat wants US$300 for a muffler and over US$700 for a complete system. Good thing we're not in FCs 'cos a complete dual system for one of them is US$1400.

About those handmade mufflers... you think he'd be troubled to have one shipped to the US?

Im running 2 1/4" extractors that collect just under my feet and 2 1/2" all the way to the back with a walker resonater an two chambered mufflers one before the diff and one after the diff and itls driving me insane with the loudness i just want to tone it down a bit.

i want a muffler that has a single outlet. what system should i go for with my bp. do you have the phone number for them.

Madaz, phone number for Cleveland Exhaust is 07 3286 5999. Another shop worth talking to is Rob Bliss Exhaust. They also have alot of rotary experience but their sytems are a bit louder but perform better. They use two straight through hand made mufflers. One smaller one before the diff and a long barrel style muffler at the back. Very nice sound and performance but as I said a little louder. The number's 07 3265 2044. BTW, if you ever come down to Brisbane and wanna hear what mine sounds like before buying something let us know.
