Sorry, Emergancy help needed!

Sorry guys, I'm violating the rules a little. I've only spent the last few minutes searching for it, but I couldnt find the answer I need and its really, really important.

I ordered a master and slave cylinder and some hosing for my 82 RX 12A. However! I just the other day had some one offer me a complete 13B and Transmission from a 84 or 85 First gen!

However, heres the problem: I ordered the parts. However, the money hasnt cleared paypal yet, so there might still be time to change my order with the dealer! I was looking at the parts, and apparently the 13b took a different clutch and slave!

If Im swithing the entire engine and tranny out on my 82 for the 13b, do I need to order the other peices or are the ones I ordered for the 12A sufficient? Sorry, I need to know this ASAP so i can call paypal and tell them to freeze the transfer if I need to!

You use the ones for your car, not ones from the 84-85.

Excellent. So, the 82 12A parts I ordered are going to completely fit? Ah, that makes me a very happy camper. Sigh, I was getting worried there for a moment!

Thanks, again I do appologize for the lack of harder searching.

If he was going with the 13B engine and transmission out of an '84-'85 -SE wouldnt he at least want the slave cylinder for the -SE at least, and the MC if it fits?

Yikes, thats a pretty quick answer. Whelp, Im good then. I'll let them continue to ship my parts

This switch to the 13b has me a little concerned, I must admit. I know I'll be gaining ALOT of power compared to the 12A, However I keep reading about needing new oil pans, etc. I've been looking for a post that describes switching a first gen 12A out for a 13b first gen and havent had much luck. Need something clean and simple. I've been reading http://mrmazda.no-ip.com/cartech.html#12A-2-13B

for the last few days here. Still a little confused, but I suppose It'll just take time for me to learn automotives and rotaries in general. Anyone have any specific advice for this kind of thing, or another post that may have what I'm looking for?

this website is always a good read. it may or may not answer a lot of your questions.

if you are droping in a 13B from an SE you do not need to fool with the oil, pan. it'll drop right in.

Thank. God.

We all have to start some where with learning how repairs, etc work with automotives. I was thinking I may have bit off a bit more then I can chew *chuckles* If it drops right in, The Im sure I can get this working. Very exited. Oh, Soon I'll learn welding and replace 3 of the four panels :P . It'll be a great project, Im just glad things are falling into place here. You guys are a tremendous help.

Aren't all the master and slave cylinders pretty much the same even into the 2nd gens?

Yes, except the 79-80 have a different thread than the 81-85.

In looking at the part #s, the 81-82 12A slave matches the 84-85 -SE slave but the 83-85 12A slave is different.

Sometimes I get frustrated by the minor differences, even though usually either part will work.
With first gen clutches, as long your not mixing parts from a 215mm system, to a 225mm system your good to go. (turbo/later models get a bit more complicated- 235/240mm).

This had me a bit confused, as the 81-85 hydraulics generally seem to be the same, and dont depend on the clutch disc size.
