sorry could not find w/search

It's probly there but could not find it using the search. How do you ajust the idle on a stock 85 gsl. I caped off the shutter valve now it idles at 200. by the way i only have the stock tach. to go off of.
Any help would be apprechated thanks all.

do you have a haynes manual? if not, go get one. you can either adjust the idle screw, which they will show you how in the manual, or you could adjust the timing... although i don't know how good of an idea that is. some more knowledgable people will have some more specific/better answers i am sure.

Yeah, ya really need a Haynes manual. Here's one of several on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2420619242

Adjusting the idle is a dance between turning the idle screw and the mixture screw. The proceedure took me about 45 minutes to get it just right.

I have a haynes manual but only the stock tac. is that ok?
