Some questions on a new rear diff

So i finally got the car to the mechanic and one of the many things to replace was the differential.totally shot and almost siezed up on the way to the mech. Should i go with a stock setup or throw something better in. im not trying to track or drag this car in anyway. just wanted to know if there were better options out there. thanks in advance

i'd think a stock limited slip would be totally fine

There's nothing wrong with the standard open diff, either... one in good condition will last six digits with only minimal maintenance, running nice and smooth.

The stock diff is fairly strong. I see little reason to upgrade unless you're making significantly more than stock power (or really abusing it, like launching on slicks).

ftfy

my experience the open diff wasent all that strong. it busted after one strong launch. the dif only had around 100000 KM on it. oh and the car is totaly stock and making a lot less power than it should.
