Soldered Radio Antenna Wire

I've searched the forum, the internet and the YouTube and nothing. I'm removing the interior of my 84 GS and got to the radio unit. Seems as though the antenna wire is soldered onto the unit. Cannot remove the radio without breaking the 'weld'. Anyone seen this before?

If it is soldered in, then you should be able to heat up the solder and remove the plug.

Or if you do not plan on using the current wiring, then cutting the antenna plug will work.

I do plan on re wiring the stock unit back in. Was more curious if there was a reason it was done this way as I haven't seen it before.

Never seen it done that way. Wonder if the banana plug is messed up and it was done to help keep it in.

Hope your deck is better than mine, I am in the process of adding in a Blurtooth amp and new speaker wire, as the deck in my 82 is pretty bad and I do not want to cut my dash.

I think that is just a short piece of antenna wire that has a junction further in.
