Sold the FB, bought an FD.

Well I sold my 82 GSL and bought a 93 FD. I might be the first one ever to use first gen parts on the FD . It has no motor or trans so Im still deciding what route I want to go with it. It's still a work in progress, it showed up today so the this winter it will get some aftermarket parts, suspension and wheels first.

Just wanted to say that I probably won't be around this 1st gen section as much as I was, but if anyone is looking for me or 1st gen wheels or have any questions you can still PM me

to this...

No ****, who got the FB?

And I'm glad to hear that there will be another FB in the future. Its too bad though. You went from a true sports car to a hyped up unreliable "sports" car.

It is a great looking car. How much did you pay for it?

Give me a break, man. How is an FD not a sports car? I don't talk **** about FBs, and I think it's silly to see some of you guys talking trash on the FDs.

It was a complete joke, hence the reason for the smiley on the side. Trust me, if I could afford to keep one running all year round, an FD would be in my garage.

The FD is an expensive true sports car. It will cost me some money to get it like I want it, much more than an FB would cost, but an FD is what I wanted and I have one.

I got a good deal on it, for a roller.

A friend of mine bought my FB, and he is local so I can get to see it from time to time.

You got that kinda backwards Normality_Glitch, its the FC thats a hyped up "sports" car, though I have to agree that the FD is definately unreliable compared to the FB. IMO, FB>FD, but only slightly. FC is just nothing to me. Looks like every other late 80's car out there and it doesn't have the feel to justify it as a true sports car. I'm not trying to talk **** about the other two gens, but in all reality we all know at least a few owners from the other gens talk **** about the FB, too much I may add.

Nice car you got there camocarl. Hope it all works out fine. Stuff a nice single turbo beast in there and you'll be happy.

Yes an FD in stock form is unreliable compared to a stock FB. But didn't the FB have only around 100 hp at the wheels stock compared to over the 250 mark with an FD? They really shouldn't be compared because they are two completely different cars.

It all comes down to whatever floats your boat. I'm not a fan of the 2nd gen. But the 1st gen was the car that started it all and Mazda a ton of them, they were a true sports car. I can't say the same thing about the 2nd gen. The 3rd gen is a true sports car, but most people could not afford them, they were priced out of the market.

Alright since no one found it as amusing as I did, Honestly 85rotarypower I am in full agreement with you. I don't like FC's. The whole reason I said the whole over hyped FD thing is just because I find it amusing that there has been so many FD owners within the past few months buying FB's. It was just a little joke.

I consider all three of the generations sports cars though.

I think it goes without saying that anyone on this forum is going to have a lot of appreciation for the rx7, regardless of the generation.

I didn't think anyone would actually take me seriously.
