So much oil spewing EVERYWHERE

My engine bay is totally soaked in oil. I mean the sides, the alternator, the inside of my hood. I mean everything is soaked. Its so hard to narrow down the problems. I finally found out that the oil cooler is leaking VERY bad from 2 spots. Im hoping that thats all it is and the fan is just spraying everywhere. Im going to replcae it as soon as I get it back.

My question is what is the best/safest way to clean my engine bay? Its virtually impossibe to find leaks with all that oil everywhere. Im even willing to get it professionaly cleaned but dont know what kind of place would provide such a service.

Most any of the engine degreasers and a pressure washer will clean it. Depending on how old and baked on the oil is, it may take a couple of tries.

Cleaning

First of all you need to remove the undertray. Get the engine to operating temp. Then spray her down with engine degreaser. Cover the dist cap with a plastic bag and tie it tight at the bottom. Don't worry about getting anything else wet. After that just spray her down with a
garden hose with a spray nozzle. You might have to do it a couple of times. After you are down take off all the electrical connectors such as to the ignitors, rats nest etc and spray them with electrical cleaner and let them air dry if you do not have compressed air.
This is to keep corrosion from occuring. You can also use simple green at full strenght or purple power or castrol super clean to do the job.

I use CLR degreaser and a tooshbrush, time consuming but nice results...
