I cannot confirm this, but I have been told SE front rotors will go onto a non-SE car, without changing anything else. I don't have a lot of faith in the person from whom I heard this, though.

If your struts are the big bearing struts of 84-85 then all the SE bits will bolt on. They are the same. The 81-83 struts have a different bearing diameter on the outer wheel bearing.

SE parts are the rotor, caliper and backing plate/caliper mount combo.

We are finalizing the price and kit contents at the moment. We are thinking about a group buy here on rx7club. The price will fall somewhere around half of what it would cost to purchase a kit or have it made.

billy,

are you doing a FC rotor, caliper swap kit like CP, or some other brake model? I emailed CP aobut a week ago cause I wanted to order and they never responded. I have all of the T2 parts, but need the adapters parts.

You would supply the hubs, rotors, bearings, grease seals and calipers from either a 4 lug or 5 lug 86+ rx7 donor.

it would be cheaper to buy the wheel adaptors...besides you could probably make the adaptor that mounts over the spindles at your local machine shop for cheaper than that...

Now I'm confused Billy. I see that your kit (which looks really nice btw) comes with inner/outer bearings and a "spindle spacer". If I'm starting with an '85 GS, do I need all that or do I just need the "rotor, caliper and backing plate/caliper mount combo" like you mentioned earlier. Sorry, I just want to make sure I've got it straight. Thanks.

Our kit does not include the bearings. It included the spacer and caliper bracket. The customer would supply the bearings. Stock second generation bearings. Which just so happens to be the same outer bearing you currently have on your 85.
