So I'm looking for 5-10 more ponies...
I want to retain everything basically as it is - here's the current setup:
CAI & K&N filter in opened up airbox (got rid of cone filter as the airbox is NOT the restriction, the AFM is)
Emissions legal (barely after 5 tries) "street" extended-port.
Racingbeat header.
Custom 2 1/4" exhaust & 2 1/4" rhino strait thru muffler (loud).
I've still got the airpump as I need it to actuate my 5th&6th ports at 3~4krpm... Well actually that's not true, I might not need it to actuate the ports, but, I suspected there wasn't enough backpreasure and set this up so ... heh. Now the airpump does it's job (pump air into the exhaust.... heh....) and also actuates my ports.
I've also got the mechanical clutch fan still in place, along with a regular distributor setup.
Timing has been advanced ever so slightly.
SO; DLIDFIS or whatever the abrev is - what're your impressions? Improvement only in the low-mid range or a lot of grunt up top as well?
Switching to an electric fan - notice any real improvement?
Airpump - again, notice any real improvement? I could always actuall confirm to see if my ports are opening at the correct rpm, right? If I did this I'd have to hookup a new pulley off the alt to get enough friction over the waterpump, but again, no biggy.
So, what would you recommend most, and why?

How about losing some weight? (the car I mean... lol)
If you're willing to lose some of those options, air conditioning, power steering (not sure about how easy that is to lose), subwoofers, spare tire, tools, heavy stock seats, sound deadening, etc... you will notice a significant improvement in acceleration, braking and handling.
Then again, you already said you want to retain things how they are, so..... get a turbo?

What air conditioning, what power steering, what subwoofers, what spare tire, what cruise control? :p
I still have 95% of the sound deadening - highway roadnoise is a bit much to warrant removing it all on a street car, I like to carry tools, and I've yet to save up enough for some nice seats, but the stockers aren't terribly heavy, altho they are quite uncomfortable.....
I myself couldn't lose anyweight, I have like 4% bodyfat or something

I'm sure it'd yield a HUGE gain, but, I like FI, and, I'm poor right now so I can't goto my own injection setup.
