How hard is it to find interior pieces for FB's? I would think that most of them are in bad condition?

And why not have an upholstery shop do the roof liner? I think that would be your best bet.

I like all 3 gen's of 7's, I am torn between all of them!

oh i can redo the liner and doors and so on myself. its just what material to use for the dash and the roofliner. if i go with suede it will be rather expensive. vinyl is tacky. not a fan of the way leather looks...... so idk. im currently redoing the interior on a 240sx its turning out really well.

as for pieces yeah they arent terribly easy to come by. so ill just keep piecing **** together as i see it

How much is suede per square foot/yard? Can't be that bad. FB roof is not much area from what I recall. Could be wrong?

That's one thing I hate about FB's, parts are hard to come by unlike FD's and FC's.

it was like $17 a yard (and the fabric was like 56 inches tall)
on second thought i guess it wouldnt be that bad. the doors will cost more than the roof i guess.

idk all in due time. i dont want to like just do the roof and nothing else it might look a bit odd you know?

OMFG! New sig!

And yes, I know what you mean about doing stuff in sections, especially an interior. I would rather gather everything up, take however long it takes and knock it all out.

You can't be posting subject lines like that and NOT include a pic!
Hell, I'd settle for a photochop pic right now...

Jenn, so that's your plan on making it back from TJ. . . . .? i mean, painting yourself yellow and calling yourself Asian after the "A-pass" i granted you a few days ago is a good idea. . . but i don't think it'll work. . .

Small suggestion on your headliner. Go to a fabric store ( I go to Joann Fabrics a lot) and buy some headliner fabric. It is cloth with about a 1/4" of gray foam on the back of it. It is actually called headliner fabric on the roll. It comes in about 10-12 different colors, and there should be one that matches fairly well. Use some 3M super 77 spray adhesive to glue it to the headliner. I did this in my 85 GS and it turned out pretty good.

BTW, some 1st gens also came with a vinyl headliner. My 83 GS has a very nice black vinyl headliner. At first I wasn't too fond of it, but now I like it better than cloth. It has held up way better than cloth usually does. It still looks like brand new even after 25 years. All I have to do is give it a shot of vinyl/leather protectant and you'd think it's a new car...

Good luck!

Jamie

yeah mine is tan vinyl stock. and it still in great shape.

problem being im switching the interior over to black ultimately. like i said im collecting black pieces till i have everything then ill do the switch. im not in any rush and the car isnt going anywhere. and i have enough other project that i need to finish that this isnt the top priority.

i found it is cheaper to go to an auto upholstery place rather than a retail fabric store like jo-ann fabric of yardage town or something of that nature.

for a yard of black micro-suede at jo-ann fabric is was something like $24 a yard and from an auto upholstery place it was like $17 a yard.
