Sneak Preview: Project Sa

Back around Rotary Fest fellow member Kory_Yahi spotted a Sa for sale, so we went and checked it out, then brought it back. After alot of massaging of the motor i was able to get her running. However the motor had low compression. So we rounded up another motor from another member. Here are some of the progress Pics.
By the way, Kory is looking for a Racing beat exhaust for this 12a. If someone has just the Header and another the pre-silencer and someone else the muffler, you get the point. Or if a combination there of, Pm me personally, thanks.

Kory wants to paint the letters on the engine that say Mazda white. I was thinking that maybe the H, humps also white would be good. If you guys have any futher detail ideas please chime in. Going to have him get Accel 300+ thundersport wires in either black or yellow, have not decided yet, maybe you can help me decide.

Pics will show wheel that will be on car.

By the way. Rich, i painted the window trim just for you, lol.

Very nice!

I miss my Spark Yellow '79. It was a mechanical nightmare, but boy was it pretty.

Very clean SA, nice score. As far as the letters, sand the paint off the Mazda 12A, then polish and clearcoat. I did that on a Honda valve cover I powdercoated and it came out very nice.

Definitely clean SA. Definitely nice score. There is an SA here in my town that I've never seen move, just sits in the people's driveway that I am thinking about stopping by and shooting the **** with them about it. See what kind of history it has.

Hey Doc - very nice trim

Now if you could just post some pics showing how to take them off that would be very nice

Sorry Rich, Too much PITA to remove. Kory did the tape job. Used Jasco paint remover on the trim to clean up then sprayed with sandable primer and shot with trim paint.

You guys should of seen the paint before Kory spent hours buffing out.
Yep Kory is quite pleased with his Sa. The motor will be back in this week. Hoping one of you guys will come thru with an exhaust so i can get it running for him. Really don't want to put the stock exhaust back on and stock carb.

Trochoid, interesting idea, i'll pass it along to Kory and see what he thinks. The only drawback i see is that everything is painted and clearcoated and if we try to sand down just that area it might screw up some of the other paint.
