smoke in the passanger compartment

when i removed the air pump on a seven i used to own, it would smoke you to death. i know that the exaust comes out of the hole that is left from to now trashed air pump but my question is, how do you fix the problem? is the solution called an "acv block off plate" and if it is not than what the heck is an "acv block off plate and what do you need to block the hole with?

umm... the tube thats smoking comes from your cat, you should have removed this with your air pump. If you dont, it will burn up possibly causing a fire and plugging your exhaust.

I dont know about the ACV block off plate, but im sure someone will chime in with an answer.

No, I had an aftermarket exaust, no cat and no "reburn" tube. It was coming out of the hole left from removing the air pump. Just below the intake.

do you mean where the cat breather tube hooks up to the intake manifold? small two bolt hole on intake manifold rearward facing?

or from the air cannister?

The air control valve blockoff plate is a metal plate that bolts to the intake manifold, used when you take the acv off. there is another blockoff plate for the hole i talked about above; for the cat breather tube on the intake manifold, rearward facing.

You shouldnt be getting exhaust out of the ACV if you removed the air pump. There is a check valve that is in line from the ACV to the cat - they do go bad. The only time you would need the ACV block off plate is if you actually removed the ACV (if you do let me know, I need one). You will need to plug the line coming off the main cat with a plate or find something that will cap it. This is all assumed with the fact you just removed the pump and left everything else on. But I think thats whats going on.
