First of all, we need some basic info. Such as, is the battery fully charged, and are the battery cables clean and tight. Will the engine turn over by hand?
Is it cranking, but not firing up, or not cranking? Different diagnostics for each condition.

^^bingo, without that vital info, its going to be hard to determine whats wrong. welcome to the club and to the world of owning an rx-7. make sure you use the search feature, as it will help you tremendously. sounds like you probably have a dead battery or a loos connection at the battery. try checking the battery connections and voltage level at teh battery and then post back what you find and we can go from there.

Welcome to the forum and the Darkside. In the FAQs at the beginning of this sub-forum, there is a link tittled 'How to Bring Your RX7 Back to Life'. Very good read and covers most everything needed.

In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs, carb manual and other rotary related reading material. Be sure to read and download whatever you need. Peruse the FAQS, the archives and the forum rules.

my Rx7 will turn over but wont ignite....i know that gas is getting to the card, and that the plugs are firing.....my brother-in-law, who is a mechanic---but doesnt know rotary motors, says that there is no compression in the motor....we can get it to back fire but not run.....any help for my Rx7, besides a rebuild

And how did he determine that there is no compression?

Sounds like your typical flooded rotory coupled with piston engine assumptions and well meaning in-laws....

There are several methods for deflooding rotories, but lately I've been using Seafoam with great success. Dump about an ounce down the larger barrels on the carb, then crank her over. If she starts, there will be lots of white smoke but don't let that worry you, it's just the seafoam burning off.

Kentetsu has a valid point about possible flooding. A flooded rotary will not make much compression, and is almost impossible to unflood in the usual ways.
I differ a little in my unflooding proceedure, prefering to use about an ounce of 2 stroke oil per primary barrel. The oil adds extra lubrication, and helps to build compression, which in turn usually assists in getting the engine to run.
First, pull the plugs, and clean them up good, then spray carb or brake cleaner on them. Allow to dry before putting them back in. While the plugs are out, disconnect the coil wires, and crank the engine over a few times. This will help rid the extra fuel in the chambers.
Adding the oil WILL cause a lot of smoke, once the engine has fired up, but it will go away in a few minutes. Let it run until fully warmed up, unless there is a major problem that requires shutting it down.

Victim of infinite scroll....Most of the odds and ins just fetch junkyard prices, but on the site here you get a faster sale. I generally just hoard parts rather than sell so I can't comment on prices too much.

why are you bumping a 12 yr old thread with random bs about what you can sell parts for? has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

I suspect its an infinite scroll issue as well. Lets try not to revive the 12 year old topics if we can help it.
