my turn signals work intermitently. is it the module or a ground problem and where exactly would i look? also my steering column is loose in its tube. you can take the steering wheel and move it up and down a good .5" or so. really annoying when attacking roads. someone mentioned the bolts on the bottom of the column but those tighten up on the tube not the shaft.

Your steering column is made like a radio antenna. One tube inside another. There are plastic pieces that hold them from sliding in and out during normal driving. But when you get in an accident, it's deisgned to collapse so you don't bust your mellon on the wheel.
The plastic could have worn out or been broken by someone pulling or pushing too hard on the steering wheel. (Road rage much?)
You can take teh steering column apart and put in cotter pins that will shear off if you wreck. Someone on here had a good picture on how it all works.. But I dunno where it went.

Seriously check out the flasher

The movement is cause of a little bearing in the shaft at the end of the shaft towards the steering wheel. Next time your over ask me to show you the bearing im referring to.. I got 2 columns just sitting out in the garage...

RE Signals.. All you need is a spot light.. shine it where you wana go Mr. Fd and for the high low beams. This worked for me once. My high beams stoped working after only working when they wanted, but I still had the flash. I took the Steering colum apart and took the time and patients to carefully clean that little guy. it was really grimy on the inside on the conections, then put it back together.. Becarefull though it does have juice going to it( I know duh ) Hey I'm a mechanical idiot but it looks right to me?
