side draft

I want a side draft carb, but I'm ballin on a budget lol. I already have a wrap around manifold, but from what I've seen from shopping around all the side drafts are hella expensive or come eith a mani already. What are the options for us out there? Maybe something stock from some other car?

Ferrari's and lambo's had the IDA's stock. DCOE's came from the GTR's and such.
Good luck, swap meets with piston heads have a pretty good selection of carbs here in Texas.

My favorite is the SU and would love to see 4 on a rotary, they would be a bitch to set up but once on are the smoothest of all on the street no bog at all, and you can change altitude and air density and they will adjust as well or better than any. I used a 2" on a draw through at Pikes Peak in 72 and it ran clean from start to finish at 14,000 feet, placed 7th in open wheel with it. They can be had fairly cheap but require a new attitude toward tuning. But times change and as someone on this site said "carburetors belong on lawn equipment not automobiles". But have thought about trying a pair on my weber manifold but the new engine will be turbo and FI with an engine management computer.
