How about fixing all the other stuff on your car that keeps breaking down first, before spending money on a fuel pump, etc.

You have a stock carb and stock porting don't you?- So leave it with a stock fuel system for now.

Nothing is left to break but the stock pump and carb .

Yes, my engine is all stock on the intake side, and stock porting. Although, I have money, and am ready to grab up a Weber intake soon, and am gonna need the fuel flow for it. I think I have mostly decided against buying the Aeromotive equpiment now as I was thinking, because with my mind chagning all the time on what I want to do, its not worth it to plan this far ahead. Looks like Im down to either the Holley Blue pump and reg, or the Carter pump, Holley reg combo, unless someone else has a better idea?

Bottom line to me, is that a fuel setup is pretty cheap as far as mods go, and you'll need it for sure somewhere down the line.... so might as well set it up. Also, it does make a little difference even with the stock carb and full exhaust.

I'd say go for it!

It pumps mad kwik yo!

Oh, so which Holley reg should I buy? 1-4 or 4-9 or whatever it is? I know this has come up before, but I dont remember the answer. Thanks guys.

~T.J.

PS - Whats a good gauge besides Paul Yaws gauge? If his is only 1-5 PSI, and if I need more than that, its no good to me. I was thinking the Holley 1-15 PSI through summit. Any good?

It depends on the carb... 1-4 for the stock carb, 4-9 for an RB Dellorto, probably Webers as well... it doesn't matter too much - just get whichever one you initially want, then you can swap the spring when you get another carb.

90% of those guages are *****... just toys. You don't need one to tune a sidedraft anyways. Save your money, IMO.

Or get one from a industrial supply house. Like mcmaster. Get one with 0.1 psi graduations.

Half the people I talk to say that they run their Dellortos at less than 3.5 PSI?

Damn it, whats the reccomended PSI for a Weber?

I've used both the Facet pump and more recently, an RX4 pump. Both are noisy as I have them bolted to the floor pan, but I'm going to rubber mount the thing when I get time. The Facet pumps are internally regulated to 6 psi, which might be a bit high. The following info is from my 1985 Racing Bleat catalog.

My Holley reg is 0-4 psi, but if I open it up all the way, I can get at least five through her.
Carter 7 pound pump- nice and loud, too.

Mario told me to buy it.
