Question MMO affect smog check in CA?

There had been lots of threads on the good of premixing mmo with gas as an added insurance on our engines. I don't think anyone has address if premixing mmo with gas will cause problem passing smog test. I live in one of those enviromentally correct state (CA) that required smog test every two years. Can anyone shed some light on this sujbect. Are there any rx7 owners in CA that use mmo premix and successfully pass the smog test?

I don't premix, but every once in -awhile, maybe once a month i'll inject 30 cc's in the gas tank to about 3 gallons of gas. I'm not clear on the effects it plays when it comes to the smog crap on the engine, but i am concerned how it effects the cat(s) so, i just don't go nuts with the stuff, with any car: before smoging, run the car on the freeway hard before testing.

That is an excellent question!

Has anyone premixed with 2-stroke and passed CA emissions?

well buring oil over time is bad for the cat(s) i dont know if it would affect the emissions testing ive never tried it. i dont see it as a problem, just let the tank get really low fill up a couple gallons and smog it with no pre mix.

Actually, Premix is designed to be burned in the engine, and burns a helluva lot cleaner than motor oil designed for lubrication. If anything, your emissions should be cleaner with premix because of this fact. Here's a link on premixing. Hope this helps! =)

Excellent info MtnRacer!

Interesting quote from link about:

"Let's look at the fluids themselves... Engine motor oil is designed strictly as an internal engine lubricant for metal-to-metal contact. Mazda designed the oil injection system to make life simple; it does the job nicely, and it's amazing it can pass emission tests! Burning engine motor oil does not make for clean emissions. Pre-mix is designed to be burned in the combustion chamber, and it is design to lubricate internal engine parts during combustion. Pre-mix burns very cleanly compared to burning engine motor oil; I wouldn't be surprised emissions is decreased. "

Good article. So, I'm guessing that MMO is not the best stuff to put in the tank? Thats what I've been doing.
