Should I recover my seats?

I'm having trouble deciding wether I should recover my seats with the seat kits from Victoria British or just buy some racing seats off of ebay. I dont think i would have any trouble recovering the seats with the seat kit, but it costs like $300 plus shipping. The racing seats off of ebay are only like $140 plus shipping but may require more modification even though they have "universal sliders" (whatever that means). Anyone have any experience with such racing seats? I'm just looking for a little bit of input on the situation because right now I am having a hard time making up my mind on what to do

I put miata seats in mine and I love them. They are a lot less heavy then the stockers and feel much better.
Plus you can pick them up cheap.

Another Miata conversion, how did you do your setup. I know it's not a direct bolt in.

sweet, those miata seats almost look like racing seats.

I have black/grey seat covers over my crap browns seats. I took the covers off awhile back and man are they ugly

Does anyone know exactly what universal sliders are? It sounds like they would be interchangeable with any car, but then again it sounds like they might want you to think that so you're more likely to buy them. Anyone use seats with universal sliders?

Just avoid the VB seats. They're overpriced and not that good. VB is good for stock replacement parts, but that's about it. And shipping there is ridiculous. Unless you've got an order over $500, it's not worth it ($500+ means free shipping with them). That's all.

Im getting my brackets fabbed up for my new miata seats as i write this...im having a metal shop bend a piece of 1/8 steel around the bottom of the miata seat, and bolt it to the stock location....then i removed the sliders from the old seats...re-installed them in the car...now the steel im having fabbed will act as a bridge between the old sliders (since the miata seats are 1 inch narrower) on which i will mount the miata seats....elegant eh!

there ya go...total project cost...$300 CDN
