Okay, man. Cool. Sorry I got all worked up about it, or if I wrote some offensive stuff.
Glad we're all on the same page now.
A short throw should go in no problem to a 79, like the Mr. Cs pic from nopi.. Maybe the guy was thinking of swapping whole trannies, or using a short throw from a later model..

No, but if someone could send me a tailshaft of a sa trans and a shifter I can make jigs to start producing them and give them a free one.

If you have or can get an extra sa shifter I strongly advise simply shortening the top of the rod as per above instructions. Try it, you'll like it.

I never saw this post before, yes parts would mainly be used for measurments. dosen't really have to be in working order when i get it.
