I saw a post along time ago that a miata shifter will fit and it pretty short. Could pick one up at a junk yard cheap.
Any body know if that is true, if it is I will be heading to the junk yard soon.

Yeah, broken spring. The shifter wont fix it. Theres a spring in there thats responsible for that, and theyre usually broken. There was a post a while ago about how to change it with pictures and everything, but he said that you had to take the tranny out. I just live with mine broken .

hmm, miata stuff sounds good, I am considering a miata trans with RX-7 bellhousing swap pretty soon, better ratios and a decent shifter

does anyone know if Miata/MX-5 have double synchro's on them?

Are you sure? Have you read this at Mazda Trix? The Cs being a two piece with a rubber dampener sounds cool though too.

I think the only boxes that got double syncro's were the late T2 and 3rd gen boxes ...... oh and all the van gearboxes got them too (same basic box)
