Need help adjusting throttle w/mech. secondaries

Okay, so i did the mod last night, thanks to 82transam, because my secondaries were not working at all before. I guess my vaccum box was broken or something, but anyway. With the pedal pushed all the way to the floor the secondary butterflies are still not completly vertical. The are closer to 55*? How can i go about adjusting this? I know that there is some information about this on Sevensport , but i was hoping some one could explain it in less words. And yes there is no slack in the linkage i made. Oh, and one more thing, the secondaries are suppose to start to open when the primaries about about 50% open, correct?

Thanks,
-Shawn

then where are you vacuum leaking from that it wouldn't kick in the secondaries? not that mechs aren't great, but i'd say we need to solve this vac problem. one month till the autox season starts.

Im not really sure that there is a leak, i think it was just something to do with the vaccum switch possibly being broken, or maybe the diaphram. Im guessing that this isnt scca legal is it?

emissions i believe is only required on stock class cars. as for mechanical secondaries, maybe just not in stock. but they honestly wouldn't care.

As far as I know the secondary butterflies don't go completely vertical, someone stop me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they stay slightly angled, at least on my car they do. Hopefully sterling will see this and respond, its his mod afterall, he would know a lot better than me. That tie has to be pretty tight, maybe yours is a bit loose, or has slipped off a little, so its not opening all the way, just a thought.

They should go vertical. They have a faster opening rate than the primaries, so even though they start to open later, they catch up and all 4 should be vertical together.

1- your not tying the linkage correctly
or
2-you have bent linkage, most likely the connecting arm from the pri throttle shaft to the sceondary.
or
3-82 is right, your tie is loose or hooked up wrong.
Youll have to futz with it a while and youll see how it should work, just hard to see way down in there I know. But its damn near impossible to 'splain in words.

Well its been raining here alot so i havnt had a chance to look at it. But i think i just need to pull the two linkages together and tie it again. I really dont think anything is bent. Thanks guys, ill get the hang of it and let you know in a couple days.
